NAFA2017 accommodation options

We recommend that you book accommodation at Danhostel in Risskov http://aarhusdanhostel.dk. You should get a 10% discount if you mention that it has to do with NAFA2017 film festival at Moesgaard Museum.

AirBnB is another inexpensive option but make sure you pick a place from where it is easy to get the bus (no 18) to Moesgaard (unless you have your own car or bicycle, of course).

Inexpensive (by Danish standards!) hotel options are:

Wakeup Aarhus: https://www.wakeupcopenhagen.com

CabInn Aarhus: https://www.cabinn.com/en/hotel/cabinn-aarhus-hotel

A more upmarket hotel option is Helnan Marselis Hotel www.helnan.dk, located beautifully at the beginning of the forest that goes all the way out to Moesgaard. Please quote the following when booking, which will give you a discount: ‘NAFA2017 - Reference nummer 468061’.

NAFA2017 travel options

By air:

Most participants from abroad will undoubtedly be arriving by air.

The local international and domestic Aarhus Airport (AAR) is located at Tirstrup approx. 45 minutes by bus from Aarhus city centre. There are airport buses linked to every flight. Ryanair has very cheap flights to London Stansted, and there are other international flights to for example Stockholm and Oslo, and frequent domestic flights to Copenhagen.

However, cheaper flight options are often available to Billund International Airport (BLL), from where there are also bus services to Aarhus (hourly on weekdays).

Finally, there is of course Copenhagen International Airport (CPH). From Copenhagen it is possible, apart from domestic flights, to go by train to Aarhus (approx. 3 hours) but there are also very cheap options by bus (around 4 hours, see for example Rød Billet www.rødbillet.dk or Flixbus www.flixbus.dk.

By rail:

For trains in Denmark see DSB (Danish Rail): https://www.dsb.dk. There are frequent intercity and express trains to Copenhagen. There are also daily trains to Hamburg and on to for example Berlin. For international trains passing through Germany it is usually cheaper to book a ticket online through Deutsche Bahn https://www.bahn.de/.

By bus:

Flixbus www.flixbus.dk offers not only a service to Copenhagen (see above) but to most cities in Europe.

For local buses the no. 18 goes to Moesgaard https://www.midttrafik.dk/koreplaner/bybusser/aarhus/.

By car:

The street address (for your SatNav) of the main venue at Moesgaard http://www.moesgaardmuseum.dk, located approx. 6 kilometres south of the city, is: Moesgaard Alle 15, DK-8270 Højbjerg. Parking at the museum is free. Some of the evening screenings will take place in the city centre at either Godsbanen or FilmbyAarhus, both venues have parking facilities but you may have to pay a fee, and parking in general is a huge problem in the city centre.

By bicycle:

If you, like many Danes, often use a bicycle as your main means of transport, there is an absolutely wonderful bicycle path from the city centre along the coast and through the forest to Moesgaard. Ask one of the locals for directions if necessary. It takes about 30 minutes.

By taxi:

Normal taxis take up to four passengers but larger taxis can be booked. The fare to Moesgaard from the city centre will be at least DKK 200: http://www.aarhustaxa.dkhttp://www.dantaxi.dk/Aarhus/Taxa-i-Aarhus.
